PMViewer is free software, used in conjunction with Microsoft's Remote Display Control program, that allows teachers, parents, and other sighted people to see the PAC Mate user interface on a computer monitor. With PMViewer, you can use a mouse, computer keyboard, or the PAC Mate keyboard to navigate menus, dialogs, and even enter text on the PAC Mate "screen."
PMViewer is a free download. There is no charge for this program.
Download the appropriate file depending on your version of PAC Mate by selecting one of the download links near the bottom of this page.
If you have a PAC Mate Omni, download the file PMViewer1.3-32bit-64bit.msi. This version of PMViewer supports Windows XP, Windows Vista 32- or 64-bit, or Windows 7 32- or 64-bit operating systems.
Otherwise, if you have a PAC Mate running version 4.1 or earlier, download the file PMViewer.exe. Your computer must have Windows XP or earlier in order to use this version of PMViewer.
The following steps describe how to download, install, and use PMViewer.
Note: This version of PMViewer will only work with PAC Mate Omni. Do not install this software if you are running PAC Mate 4.1 or earlier.
If you have previously used, or attempted to use, the orriginal PMViewer application with your PAC Mate Omni, do the following before installing this new version:
Note: This version of PMViewer is not compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7. Do not use it on these operating systems.
Note: When installing the software, you must establish an ActiveSync connection between your computer and PAC Mate.
To start PMViewer in the future, first establish an ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center connection between your PAC Mate and computer. Then, locate and choose either the PMViewer or PAC Mate Viewer 1.3 icon on your computer's desktop.
