Downloading and Installing the Focus 40 Blue Drivers
Download the file below to obtain the appropriate Focus 40 Blue drivers. This file contains both the JAWS driver and the driver for Talks version 4.0 or later. If you are running JAWS 11 or later, you do not need to install the JAWS driver.
Do the following to download and install the Focus 40 Blue drivers:
- Select the download link that appears at the end of this procedure.
- When the dialog box opens, choose Save. When the Save as dialog box opens, make sure to save the FBD1.0.1061.exe file on the Desktop, which is the Windows default.
- Locate the file and run it. You are asked where you want to extract the contents of the file. Press ENTER to use the default location. A folder called FocusBlueDriver1.0.1061 is created on the desktop. This folder contains the entire contents of the Focus 40 Blue Companion CD including both JAWS and Talks drivers, as well as all of the documentation files.
- Open this folder and press ENTER on setup.exe.
- When prompted to select the installer language, use the ARROW keys to select a language then choose the Select Language button.
- When the Freedom Scientific Focus Setup dialog box opens, do one of the following:
- Choose the Install Windows Driver button to add support for the Focus 40 Blue in versions of JAWS prior to 11.
- Choose the Install Talks Driver button if you wish to use the Focus 40 Blue with a cell phone running Talks version 4.0 or later. Make sure your computer is running the Nokia PC Suite software and your phone is connected before continuing.
- Choose the Documentation button to open the folder containing the Focus 40 Blue User's Guide and Talks instructions.
