ScanTalker 2.0 Update for PAC Mate BX and PAC Mate QX What is the ScanTalker 2.0 Update? The ScanTalker 2.0 update is a free download for existing ScanTalker 1.0 users. The update expands your product database to over 1 million products. Also, by copying the update files to your ScanTalker CompactFlash® card, you can use the ScanTalker update with your current bar code scanner. To download the 2.0 update, select the download link near the bottom of this page. This download is for the PAC Mate BX and QX only. What Does It Cost? The update is free for authorized ScanTalker 1.0 users. How Do I Get It? Download the self-extracting file, ScanTalker_2_Update.exe, by selecting the Download Now link near the bottom of this page. How Do I Install It? To install the 2.0 update, do the following: Save the ScanTalker_2_Update.exe file to a folder that you can easily remember on your computer. You might choose to save it on the desktop, which is the Windows default. Locate the file and run it. A new folder, ScanTalker_2_Update, is created on the C drive of your computer. This folder contains a license agreement text file and two folders labeled 2577 and ScanTalker. Copy the file and two folders to your existing ScanTalker CompactFlash card. DO NOT erase any files on the card. When prompted to overwrite the contents of the CompactFlash card, select Yes to All. Any custom bar codes or edits that you created will be saved. Once the file transfer is complete, connect your scanner as before and begin scanning. As an existing ScanTalker 1.0 user, no new authorization is required to use the ScanTalker 2.0 update. Download the ScanTalker 2.0 Update for PAC Mate Now (47.8 MB-File Date: 3/27/2006) NOTE: This update does NOT enable the Metrologic omni-directional USB scanner. PAC Mate 4.0 is required to support that scanner. If you wish to purchase the Metrologic scanner as a separate item, it is available from a number of vendors over the Internet. Be sure to look for the Metrologic part number MK6720-73A07 which is their MS6720 scanner with USB. When you purchase the scanner separately from a third party, it must be configured to work with PAC Mate and ScanTalker.
